Random Fact Friday

Did you know Humans have used chili peppers and other hot spices for thousands of years. Inhabitants of Mexico, Central America, and South America had chili peppers more than 6,000 years ago. Within decades of contact with Spain and Portugal in the 16th century, the American plant was carried across Europe and into Africa and Asia, and altered through selective breeding. One of the first commercially available bottled hot sauces in America appeared in 1807 in Massachusetts. Few of the early brands from the 1800s survive to this day, however. Tabasco sauce is the earliest recognizable brand in the United States hot sauce industry, appearing in 1868. As of 2010, it was the number 13 best-selling seasoning in the United States preceded by Frank’s RedHot Sauce in 12th place, which was the sauce first used to create buffalo wings.

Trader Joe Spree!

Today is Wednesday, the middle the week, and I don’t know if you’re like me but I can’t wait for Friday to come so I can have a day off. Since I’m so busy, tired and want some fresh home cook meals and literally tired of fast food places and the cost is definitely not my health and wallets best friend so I decided to head to my good Ol’ Trader Joes. I wasn’t really prepared on the ingredients I kinda just picked and choose what look there but hey, it’s a start to a healthier future!

I did cook the turkey breast first and put it on the side, Then started to cook the veggies, broccoli, asparagus, and onions. I just covered the veggies to cook a bit (I like it al dente) Then added them together pour some General Tsao. I did pour a little to much here the sauce does go a long way. But it’s healthier than your local restaurant also it didn’t take long at all to cook. And no I didn’t eat it with rice trying to cut down on the carbs.

Here are some other treasures I found in Trader Joe’s.

Netflix and Chill

Lately I have been watching a lot of movies so I decided to right reviews on some movies I have watched.

Browsing through Netflix and in new releases was “Tall Girl”. With the title like that I thought. Well, This is a story about a tall girl LOL Doesn’t sound to interesting but the cover seem like it might be alright, sometimes I like to watch something while I do other stuff, like browse on my phone or do paperwork (maybe it’s the Gemini in me).

Starting the film out I didn’t pay attention the first time I watched it,  but when Jodi (the main character) and Jack (her Best Friend) was having a conversation and Stig (The new kid) walks in while he gets everyones attention, I guess he got mines too because that’s when I started watching. I like the chemistry the friends have with each other I felt like they should have made more story on them. I didn’t feel like the movie had a dragging point maybe it only slowed down when they had the story on Harper (The main character’s sister). I don’t want to give out any spoilers but it gave me a “Pretty in Pink” vibe in modern days. I really liked that they gave a view about tall people because a lot of movies doesn’t show that sometimes tall people do get made fun of especially when it’s a young person that just wants to fit in. But confidence and excepting yourself that you’re unique makes you more special. I thought the movie was really cute I give it a 6.5 and I ended up watching it again because I told my sister she should watch it, it’s a nice film and she gave it a solid 8.

I always like random facts and I end up looking them up if it’s actually true. Well, I’ll provide links to prove these strange and random facts. Here are two random facts.

Well there names are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil.

Interesting fact, did you know that unlike any other bird I am aware of hummingbirds actually process all the water they consume through their kidneys? This might actually limit the rate at which they consume nectar.

Hello World!

The time we live in now can be stressful on everyone and these are the times we need to unwind and de-stress not just for your friends and family but your health. Here are simple ways to unwind your body, mind and soul.

First things first!

1. Clean/Clear up your space!

Having a free area that you’re not kicking any kids toys, the shoes you kick off after a long day of work and you just don’t wanna worry about it at the moment, or the socks from days prior or what about that tennis ball that you kick around so your cat go chasing it. Not only having a clean space have your mind clear by not worrying is today the day when I step on that Lego or sprain my ankle. Just remember put things away right away you don’t have to worry about the pile up later.

2. Exercise!

Speaking for myself, when I’m tired I’m tired! Not thinking to exercise after work, I wanna take that nap I deserve. Well best time would be before work before the shower to get ready. Not only it helps detox your body and you drink more water but it helps release stress and helps with depression. Not mention that it helps you get a summer body. That sounds like a win win to me!

3. Unwind, Relax, Moment of Silence.

Doing some meditation and having a little moment just for yourself and I’m not talking about hiding in the bathroom more like taking a bath, laying down with some essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, rose, or have your favorite perfume while listening to calming sounds or music, such as hearing the nature, Zen music or just calm piano music.

I hope this helps unwind and dine and help you be more happy and fully enjoying the moments and making wonderful memories with your family and friends.
